Veteran studio host Kay Murray joined ESPN in February 2020 as an English-language anchor for international editions of SportsCenter, the company’s flagship sports news and information program, and as a recurring host for ESPN FC, the daily sports news highlights, and opinion program available on ESPN+. In August, six months later, she expanded her soccer studio role with her debut as the primary host for Bundesliga on ESPN digital and linear television platforms.

Following her successful run as one of the studio hosts for ESPN’s critically acclaimed UEFA European Football Championship (UEFA EURO 2020) in June-July 2021, the company named Murray as one of its two English-language hosts for LaLiga on ESPN+, ESPN, and ABC in the United States. Her LaLiga role marks Murray’s return to a league she has covered for more than 15 years at beIN Sports and Real Madrid TV in Spain.

Before ESPN, Murray served as soccer studio host for beIN Sports from 2012-2020. At beIN Sports, she was the host of The Locker Room, a football debate show on Mondays and Fridays, and The Xtra, the network’s weekend highlights-driven program for matches from different European leagues – LaLiga, Ligue 1, Serie A, and others – featured on the channel.

Murray traveled to Doha, Qatar, in 2015, where she served as studio host for the global media network’s coverage of 2015 Copa América, and returned in 2016 to host UEFA EURO 2016 for beIN Sports in the Middle East and North African regions. In 2012, she was a studio host for UEFA European Football Championship for Astro Supersport, the English-language satellite television network, in Malaysia.

From 2006-2012, Murray was an English- and Spanish-language presenter, sideline reporter, and studio host for Real Madrid TV, covering one of the most legendary soccer clubs in the world. She interviewed legendary football personalities, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, manager Jose Mourinho, and others, as part of the two primary shows – Real Madrid Life and Extra Time – she hosted on the network.

Murray hosted the 2011 and 2012 editions of the prestigious FIFA Ballon d’Or ceremony alongside legendary Dutch footballer Ruud Gullit. She presented Lionel Messi with his third and fourth awards as best player in soccer, seen by a global television and digital audience estimated at more than 250 million viewers.

In Madrid, Spain, Murray was a roommate of ESPN FC anchor Dan Thomas when they were on-air colleagues at Real Madrid TV.

A versatile broadcaster, Murray has covered numerous sporting events for different outlets, including reporting and interviewing stars on the Green Carpet at FIFA.com’s The Best Awards in 2017, serving as a LaLiga correspondent for UK-based TalkSport radio station and Astro SuperSport in Malaysia, and others. She and her husband Matteo Bonetti host a weekly podcast on Italian football.

Murray began her broadcast journalism career in 2002 as a presenter and reporter at Boro TV, the local television channel for Middlesbrough Football Club – her hometown club. She wrote, co-produced, and hosted Soccer Surgery, Boro TV’s weekly football program about Middlesbrough FC.

A native of Middlesbrough in the northeastern region of England, Murray lives in Connecticut with her husband and their two sons, Luca and Romeo.
